PHILGUARANTEE PCEO Pascual presents guarantee schemes for housing developments during 32nd SHDA-DHSUD National Developers Convention

Davao City, October 10-11, 2024 – President and CEO Alberto Pascual was invited as one of the key speakers and panelists during the 32 nd SHDA-DSHUD National Developers Convention 2024, held at Dusit Thani Hotel, Davao City. The national convention, with the theme “Puy-Anan Para Sa Tanan: Collaborating Towards A Unified Housing Roadmap”, was an annual gathering of housing developers, government agencies on housing and urban development, professionals, and all stakeholders in the housing sector. Meynardo Talens Jr. of Housing Guarantee Group also attended the convention.

PCEO Pascual imparted various guarantee schemes for housing developments as part of the convention’s Module 4 – Addressing the Financial Gap: Financial and Incentive Mechanisms in the Philippine Housing. His session was focused on how these schemes can support developers in ensuring project viability and overcome financial barriers to drive success. Some of the schemes he presented were the following: (1) Portfolio Guarantee Schemes (PGS); and (2) Individual Guarantee Schemes (IGS).

The panel discussion was joined by officials and other speakers such as Ms. Marilene Acosta, CEO of Pag-IBIG Fund; Bureau of Internal Revenue, and ARCH Capital Management. The panel was moderated by Engr. Francis Richmond Villegas, SHDA 1st Vice President, and Mr. Steven Tambunting, SHDA Governor.

The convention underscored a significant step forward sustainable development of addressing the challenges and opportunities towards achieving robust support and innovations for both public and private housing finance sectors.
